The Rent Relief application undergoes a thorough screening and review process conducted by our team. Once your application has been completed, we endeavor to review it within 3 to 4 weeks. This process may take up to 6 weeks if we are experiencing a high influx of applications. Applicants are empowered to check the status of their application at any time during the application process.
Step-by-Step Guide to Check the Status of Your Application
- Log into your Rent Relief portal or website here: https://rentrelief.esusurent.com/.
- Navigate to the Active loans tab on the left hand menu. Two things that will indicate the status of your application will be:

- The icon beside your Loan ID, just below the Active loans tab
- The Status that is displayed in your application
The table below shows the corresponding icons and statuses in sequence, for your reference. This will help guide you through the progress of your application.

Pre-origination | Application is created, however it wasn’t successfully completed. | |
Origination | The application is pending review and verification by the Property Manager or Loan Specialist. | |
Auto processing | An application is sent for reprocessing or origination by the Underwriting team when more information is needed from the Property Manager or applicant. | |
Waiting for approval (before the Bank Verification) |
The first Waiting for approval phase means that the application has been sent for review either by a Property Manager or a Loan Specialist and is ready to be sent for Bank Verification. | |
Bank account verification | The application has been sent for Bank verification; the applicant must log in to the portal and link their bank account to complete this step. | |
Bank verification expired | The applicant hasn’t linked their bank account within the 30-day time frame and the application has been canceled. | |
Waiting for approval (after the Bank Verification) |
The second Waiting for approval phase means the resident has completed the Bank account verification. The application is now in the queue for our Underwriting team’s final review. | |
After-Review Decision | ||
Signing | The application has been approved and the loan agreement is sent to the resident for their e-signature. | |
Loan agreement expired | The applicant hasn’t signed the loan agreement within the 30-day time frame and the application has been canceled. | |
Approved | The loan agreement is signed, but pending funds disbursement. | |
Active | The loan is active since funds are disbursed; the resident will or is actively making repayments. | |
Not approved | The application is not approved. |
